Mandriva Flash 2010 – A mobile desktop in your pocket!

Linux developer Mandriva has updated its operating system-on-a-stick with the release of Mandriva Flash 2010, including a home version of the software on a USB flash drive. Available from mid-December, Mandriva Flash 2010 offers the latest version of Mandriva Linux on a flash drive 8GB, which offers 6 GB of free space for its own documents and user files. Microsoft’s Party for Windows 7 Launch

Microsoft provides a series of parties in the world to celebrate the release of Windows 7, and seeks to accommodate users. “These gatherings can are a way for people who are excited about Windows 7 to bring together their friends, families and acquaintances to see the experience the product,” said Brandon Le Blanc on the Windows Experience blog. Intel Releases Moblin 2.0 Beta for Netbooks

Intel has released a beta version of its Linux-based Moblin 2.0 operating system designed for netBooks and nettops. The latest version is part of a partnership with Novell, and is optimized for use with the Intel Atom. Developers can test the interface, as well as video. “We invite and encourage all developers to test the beta. We believe that the code has reached a level where developers and hobbyists can play with him,” said Imad Sousou, Director of Intel Open Source Technology Center, in a blog.
